Mixed Volleyball League. Rules & format.

- The Rio League tournament is open to Rio Volleyball Members and external players.
- Additional players can join current teams during the league.
- Matches will be played best of 3 sets. The first two sets will be 25 points with 2 points difference. In the case of a third set, it will be played in 15 points with 2 points difference. Cap at 30.
- Round Robin Format – All teams play with every other team in the 1st Round. 1st Round will be followed by semi-finals and finals for 3rd- 4th and 1st- 2nd place.
- During the matches, only the captain can talk to the referee and report the team’s complaints, if any.
- A courteous attitude and good sportsmanship are expected of all and at all times.
- Teams can start with 5 players, the “phantom player” rule applies - a team has to maintain the normal rotation order and lose a point when the missing player is to serve.
- The schedule for the entire League is issued before the first match.
- Warm-up starts at 18:45. First serve at 19:00. Teams that are not ready to start the game at 19:00 will forfeit the 1st set.
- Substitutions during the game are always allowed and are not limited in number.
- Points’ games are calculated according to the following criteria:
- 3 points to the winner of the 2:0 game.
- 2 points for the winner of the 2:1 game.
- 1 point for the loser of the 1:2 game.
- 0 points for the loser of the 0:2 game.
- The results are regularly updated on the website.
- All teams are requested to wear a uniform.
- Prizes: medals and trophies will be awarded to participants and winners.
